The early church was started on a very strong foundation, with Jesus Christ commissioning the Apostles to \u201cmake disciples of all nations\u201d until \u201cthe end of the age\u201d (Matthew 28:19-20).<\/h2>\n

\n

Since that time, the church has been carrying out its divine mandate consistently regardless of the persecutions that have been orchestrated against it over the centuries. As the church stands today, it can derive much satisfaction for having stood firm and carried on with its divine assignment as per the Great Commission: spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ and Salvation from the Cross.<\/p>\n

Throughout the ages, the church has been characterised by small membership and size; concentrating on spiritual functions only. Until recently, the church has been primarily a \u201cspiritual sanctuary and sermon house\u201d.<\/p>\n

However, the 21st Century has brought about a different church altogether. It has grown to become a massive conglomerate; a giant entity which has spread its wings to arenas that were hardly accessible a few years ago.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Though the church has grown its spiritual base significantly, it has also diversified its operations to include, inter alia, ownership of blue-chip companies, day care centres, junior and high schools, colleges and universities, training institutes, prisons and correctional services\u2019 ministry, vocational training centres, anger and divorce management, and drug rehabilitation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

All these modern facets on church administration require the deployment not only of spiritually mature people but also of qualified human capital; people who are well versed with business management and its applicable principles. Given that the pastors will have to \u201cgive themselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word\u201d (Acts 6:4), therefore there must be someone who is a steward and watchdog of the church and its leadership.<\/p>\n

That person is called an ADMINISTRATOR! He ensures that the vision and direction set by the pastor is followed and fully implemented.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
