The Growing Influence and Popularity of Short Videos http://churchsoftware.co.za/the-growing-influence-and-popularity-of-short-videos/ http://churchsoftware.co.za/the-growing-influence-and-popularity-of-short-videos/#respond Thu, 19 Jul 2018 06:24:48 +0000 https://wp.xpeedstudio.com/upturn/home-others/?p=874

Netflix once announced that it would release a series of original, 15-minute stand-up comedy specials, indicating a push for more short-form programming.

Business Insider reports: “The short-form comedies can help Netflix’s aim of acquiring more mobile viewers. Mobile viewers prefer shorter, snackable content — 47% of all mobile video viewing is on videos 20 minutes or shorter, while 39% of views go to content 5 minutes or shorter, according to Ooyala per Variety magazine.

Appealing to mobile users can help Netflix measure up to YouTube, which ranked first in terms of average monthly users across iPhone and Android in 2017.”

Netflix’s short-form push is focused on gaining more casual mobile viewers, who are consuming short-form video on Facebook and YouTube instead.

Business Insider continues: “Netflix’s short-form push comes as the company is adding subscribers at a rapid clip. The company beat analyst expectations and added 8.3 million subscribers globally in Q4 2017, bringing its total subscriber count to 118 million.”

So what does this mean for evangelism?

One study indicates that 47% of people who watch a short video want to find out more.

That means the time is now to produce meaningful, compelling, short videos. Testimonies, dramas, comedies, documentaries – all these and more can be powerful ways to share a message of hope.

I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created

For the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite sense of mere tranquil existence, that I neglect my talents. I should be incapable of drawing a single stroke at the present moment; and yet I feel that I never was a greater artist than now. When, while the lovely valley teems with vapour around me, and the meridian sun strikes the upper surface of the impenetrable foliage of my trees, and but a few stray gleams steal into

The inner sanctuary, I throw myself down among the tall grass by the trickling stream; and, as I lie close to the earth, a thousand unknown plants are noticed by me: when I hear the buzz of the little world among the stalks, and grow familiar with the countless indescribable forms of the insects and flies, then I feel the presence of the Almighty, who formed us in his own image, and the breath

A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm

The Origins Of Church Administration! http://churchsoftware.co.za/the-origins-of-church-administration/ http://churchsoftware.co.za/the-origins-of-church-administration/#comments Tue, 03 Jul 2018 09:54:33 +0000 https://wp.xpeedstudio.com/upturn/home-others/?p=128 The early church was started on a very strong foundation, with Jesus Christ commissioning the Apostles to “make disciples of all nations” until “the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20).

Since that time, the church has been carrying out its divine mandate consistently regardless of the persecutions that have been orchestrated against it over the centuries. As the church stands today, it can derive much satisfaction for having stood firm and carried on with its divine assignment as per the Great Commission: spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ and Salvation from the Cross.

Throughout the ages, the church has been characterised by small membership and size; concentrating on spiritual functions only. Until recently, the church has been primarily a “spiritual sanctuary and sermon house”.

However, the 21st Century has brought about a different church altogether. It has grown to become a massive conglomerate; a giant entity which has spread its wings to arenas that were hardly accessible a few years ago.

Though the church has grown its spiritual base significantly, it has also diversified its operations to include, inter alia, ownership of blue-chip companies, day care centres, junior and high schools, colleges and universities, training institutes, prisons and correctional services’ ministry, vocational training centres, anger and divorce management, and drug rehabilitation.

All these modern facets on church administration require the deployment not only of spiritually mature people but also of qualified human capital; people who are well versed with business management and its applicable principles. Given that the pastors will have to “give themselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word” (Acts 6:4), therefore there must be someone who is a steward and watchdog of the church and its leadership.

That person is called an ADMINISTRATOR! He ensures that the vision and direction set by the pastor is followed and fully implemented.

Does Your Church Need a Public Relations Strategy? http://churchsoftware.co.za/does-your-church-need-a-public-relations-strategy/ http://churchsoftware.co.za/does-your-church-need-a-public-relations-strategy/#respond Tue, 03 Jul 2018 09:53:23 +0000 https://wp.xpeedstudio.com/upturn/home-others/?p=121 The term public relations is defined by PRSA as: “A strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and their publics.”

But, do churches really need to manage public relations? Should they care about building relationships with its members and the community?

The answer is yes. The church represents Christianity and has the responsibility for making that representation reflective of who Christ is.

And, one way to do that is by giving back to the community and maintaining a positive public image.

We often hear of PR nightmares during times of crisis and, how an organization responds, can have a positive or negative effect on the public perception of the organization.

There have been a number of church-related events in recent years that received lots of media attention.

The unfortunate shooting of a pastor as he preached, the sex scandal of the leader of a megachurch or the Catholic Church child abuse scandals are all examples of times when the church needs to have a public response.

Anyone who followed any of these stories can only imagine the behind the scenes efforts that went into its damage control and communication efforts.

The way a church responds and communicates during a time of crisis can influence how they are perceived by the general public.

Developing an effective Public Relations Strategy is not only good church management, but it is also instrumental in influencing a positive public image.

A good strategy can help build rapport with members, employees, and the general public.

The goal would be for the ministry to have a good reputation within their community and a plan for responding quickly in the event of a church crisis or emergency.

A public relations strategy provides direction for communicating information and responding to the public and members.
